Galion Community Hospital volunteers provide a variety of services including:
- Clerical and office assistance
- Delivery services
- Greeting the public
- Support in patient care units
- Staffing non-patient areas like the cafeteria and gift shop
- Working and coordinating fundraising events
- Making handmade items for our patients (new born baby hats, lab robes for our extended care and in-patient rehab patients, walker bags for rehabilitation units, etc.)
Volunteer Qualifications
Volunteers at Galion Community Hospital have the opportunity to give back to the community by providing guidance and assistance to patients, visitors and staff. In addition to the joy of helping others, volunteers receive exposure to healthcare careers and special recognition. To become a Galion Community Hospital volunteer you must be:
18 years of age or older*
- 18 years of age or older*
- Available three to four hours per week
- Willing to follow appearance standards
- Customer service oriented
- Able to commit to a minimum of at least several months service or more
- Able to complete pre-placement requirements, orientation and training
*Unless applying for Junior Auxiliary program (students in the seventh grade or older).
Junior Auxiliary Program
Galion Community Hospital has a program available for student’s grades 8-12. This program is designed to encourage students to consider a career in healthcare. Inquire anytime as we actively recruit to fill these positions in early summer and late fall. Applications are available by contacting Volunteer Services or by download here.
