AMI Patients Given Aspirin Upon Arrival

Indicates the percent of AMI patients that receive aspirin prior to or upon arrival to hospital. The early use of aspirin in patients with a heart attack results in a significant reduction in adverse events and possibly may increase mortality. |

Indicates the percent of patients that had problems with the heart pumping enough blood to the body were prescribed medicine to improve their heart’s ability to pump blood. The common medicines are angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). |

Indicates the percent of patients that were smokers and were provided with advice or counseling to quit smoking. Smoking harms the heart, lungs and blood vessels, worsens existing heart disease and is linked to heart failure. Quitting may improve a patient’s condition. |
