Pain Management Service Now At Galion Community Hospital
Beginning January 11, Galion Community Hospital will offer a new service line. The “GCH Pain Management Center” will provide interventional pain management using a combination of medication management with minimally invasive procedures to provide the latest in pain relief. MORE
- Dr. Eric Hoff Moves Into New Office
Galion Community Hospital will welcome Dr. Eric Hoff to a new office on November 2. Dr. Hoff, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, will be located on the first floor of the hospital at 269 Portland Way South in Galion. He has been employed by the hospital since August of 2008 and is very familiar with the hospital’s campus and staff. MORE
- GCH Limits Visitation
Galion Community Hospital has started to see an increase of calls coming through the Emergency Department and physician offices describing flu-like symptoms. Therefore, GCH is asking family members visiting with children under the age of 12, do not bring children into the hospital, they will not be allowed unless they are seeking medical attention. MORE
- Dr. Eric Haus Joins Medical Team at GCH
Dr. Eric Haus, D.O., has joined the physician staff of Galion Community
Hospital. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Haus has practiced privately in Ontario, Ohio, since 2001. MORE
- New Physician Joins Galion Community Hospital
Galion Community Hospital has announced that Francis X. Blais, D.O.,
F.A.C.O.I., will join the hospital’s physician team in mid-September. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Blais will concentrate on treating patients 18 years of age and older. MORE
- Walt Chambers Memorial to Take Place July 29
The Walt Chambers Memorial Golf Outing, coordinated by the Galion Community Hospital Foundation, will take place July 29 at the Galion Country Club. For the second year, the family and friends of Walt Chambers will be donating their time and talents to host the event in memory of Mr. Chambers to benefit the Cardiac Rehab Unit at the hospital. Major event sponsors include Medalist Management and Aramark Healthcare. More
- Two Galion Residents Receive Honors
Ohio Hospital Association’s highest honor, the Donald R. Newkirk Award, has been given to LaMar Wyse, retired CEO of Galion Community Hospital, for dedicating 35 years to the health care field in Ohio, partly demonstrated by his extensive participation on OHA’s Board and several committees. More
- Sports Clinic Planned at GCH Ortho Center
Saturday, July 11 has been set as the date for a half day of education at the
Galion Community Hospital Orthopedic Center for sports-minded young people, their parents and coaches. MORE
- New CEO Brings Expertise
A new President and CEO has been named for Galion Community Hospital. Jerome B. Morasko will begin his duties as the hospital’s chief executive officer on April 13. MORE
- National Hospital Week is May 10-16
Galion Community Hospital will join the nation in recognizing National Hospital Week sponsored by the American Hospital Association during May 10-16, 2009. This year’s theme, “A Healthy Commitment in Changing Times™,” acknowledges that hospitals, even in times of economic crisis and change, put patients first. MORE
- Live, Laugh and Learn Event to be May 6
Thanks to shared funding, Galion Community Hospital will celebrate another evening of “Live, Laugh and Learn.” The popular program for women only will take place on Wednesday, May 6 during Women’s Health Week. MORE
- WorkWell Announces Seminar
WorkWell occupational medicine program will offer a lunch time seminar on April 30 from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. Titled “Workplace Wellness,” the presentation will be conducted by Dr. Stephen Novack, medical director for WorkWell. MORE
- New Camera Arrives at Galion Community Hospital
Patients using Galion Community Hospital for radiology services requiring a nuclear medicine camera will benefit from a new state-of-the-art instrument, courtesy of the Galion Community Hospital Foundation.
Nuclear medicine is a branch of medical imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose or treat a variety of diseases, including many types of cancers, heart disease and certain other abnormalities within the body. MORE
