On a day in 1954, an organization named the Galion Community Hospital Auxiliary was formed. The membership of the Auxiliary in that first year of existence numbered 122. Today, the Auxiliary numbers 215, both male and female. Approximately 30 of that number are Junior Volunteers. The Auxiliary includes Active, Sustaining, Life and Courtesy, as well as Associate Memberships. Volunteers are always welcome! We invite you to join us in this worthwhile endeavor.
The GCH Auxiliary is truly a part of the hospital team and subscribes to the Mission, Vision, and Values of GCH. The GCH Auxiliary supports the hospital through volunteer service and community relations, as well as fund raising.
The open hands and caring hearts of our volunteers provide an invaluable service to our patients and their families, as well as the staff. Volunteers may choose an area of service and/or times best suited to their talents and schedule. Placement is based on skills and interests of the volunteer, as well as hospital needs.
At Galion Community Hospital, volunteers give back to the community and make a difference by giving thousands of hours of service each year in many different ways:

- Reception Desk
- Mail Delivery
- Mammography Center
- Surgery Waiting
- Evening Snack Cart
- Food and Nutrition
- Tiny Tiger Tours
- Disaster Drills
- Thread Angels (that make baby hats, lap robes, and pillows)
- Perform Free Blood Pressure Screens
- Participate in Fund Raising Opportunities
- And much more
