VASCULAR AND THORACIC PROCEDURES
Endovascular therapy is changing the way heart attacks, stroke and various other medical conditions are being treated. Many problems that once required invasive surgery can now be fixed using minimally invasive procedures, with catheters instead of scalpels. Because endovascular procedures are less invasive, patients spend less time in the hospital, less time recovering and can get back to their daily routine sooner.
Thoracic surgery offers skilled care for patients with both benign and cancerous chest and lung conditions. Treatment includes use of leading-edge techniques, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) and other minimally invasive surgical techniques, to relieve symptoms in patients who have lung and esophageal cancer.
VASCULAR LABORATORY
Cardiovascular ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic tool used to diagnose and detect heart and blood vessel problems. Testing is performed by registered cardiac and vascular sonographers. Tests performed in this department include echocardiograms, carotid artery and venous ultrasound, ultrasound of the aorta, and testing for peripheral artery disease.
