Pulmonary Services performs all aspects of respiratory care including acute and long-term administration of respiratory therapy. Pulmonary Services maintains life support equipment and responds to all emergency situations. The staff of registered and certified therapists, along with the physicians, care for all respiratory diagnoses.

• Oxygen application and monitoring
• All respiratory medication nebulization and IPPB delivery
• Setup, maintenance and discontinuation of ventilatory support via BiPap and ventilators
• Perform all aspects of BLS, PAL, ACLS and neo-natal resuscitation
• Pulmonary rehabilitation classes on an outpatient basis
• Smoking cessation classes to public
• Respond to all trauma and emergency situations

REFERRAL TO GALION COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
Patients are referred by a private physician if they are having difficulty with normal respiratory functions or are on long-term respiratory therapy prior to entering the hospital.

The impact of chronic lung diseaseon morbidity and mortality has increased dramatically in recent decades. In the United States, COPD and allied conditions rank as the 4th leading cause of death.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation cannot cure such diseases as Emphysema and COPD, but by treatment, it can increase self confidence, activities in daily living, and ability to cope with chronic lung disease.
