The Obstetrics Unit performs obstetrical/neonatal services, labor and delivery, antepartum/postpartum and nursery services. The Unit staff focus is on family centered support, care and education for the mother, her newborn and the family unit.

ABOUT OUR UNIT:
- Funds were donated by the Galion Community Hospital Auxiliary for birthing room equipment and recliners
- Patients labor, deliver and recover in one of three private birthing suites
- Ten private patient rooms promote family-centered care
- Baby stays in mother’s room as she desires for bonding and education
- Examination/Triage room
- Two handicapped accessible rooms
- Hearing tests for all infants are conducted in our nursery by the GCH Audiology Department
- Funds for the audiology equipment were donated by local Shriners
SERVICES:
- Childbirth classes
- Breast feeding class with lactation consultant
- Vaginal and c-section births
- Care and resuscitation of the neonate
- Fetal monitoring
- Assist with patients in postpartum period or with antepartum complications
HOURS:
Open 24-hours daily to support hospital, patient and emergency needs.
