April 14  – Prostate Support Group

Open to prostate cancer survivors and their loved ones, this group will meet in the GCH Board Room at 7:00 p.m. For more information, please call Fred McCumber at  (419) 468-4221.


April 9 & 23Free Blood Pressure Checks

Sponsored by the GCH Auxiliary, free blood pressure checks are available in the lobby the second and fourth Wednesdays (except for major holidays) from 9:30-11:30 a.m.


April 10GCH Stroke Support Group  

The GCH Stroke Support Group meets from 1:30-3 p.m. in the Small Dining Room and is dedicated to the health and well-being of those who have experienced a stroke and the loved ones who care for them.

Pre-registration is not required and refreshments will be served. Our facilities are handicapped accessible.


APRIL17Diabetic Support Group

This group meets in the Education Department the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m.  For more information, please call Wendy Butz, RN, CDE at (419) 468-0545.


April 17 – Childbirth Classes

This series of five classes meets Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm in the GCH Dining Room and is taught by OB nurses. The last class is a breast feeding class taught by our Lactation Consultant. You may register separately for the breast-feeding class (May 15) if you do not wish to participate in the entire program. Please make reservations by calling (419) 468-0910 and be sure to bring a pillow!  The classes are free to the public.


April 23Advance Directives Clinic

Galion Community Hospital Social Services staff will be available to answer questions and assist with completion of a Living Will declaration and/or Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care from 9-11 a.m. in the Small Dining Room at GCH.  No pre-registration is necessary.  Call 419-468-0694 or 419-468-0695 with any questions.

Designed for first grade students, the hospital will welcome young visitors to see “behind the scenes” at GCH.  Watch your local newspaper for more information!
