This department is under the direction of a Radiologist, certified by the American Board of Radiology. Some patients admitted to the hospital require x-ray examination.

Mobile PET/CT:
Galion Community Hospital is pleased to announce the avaiblilty of a mobile PET/CT Scan beginning on May 2nd, 2007. The services will be avabile at the hospital every other week in the afternoons. To schedule contact the scheduling center at 1-866-251-0710 between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, M-F.

Pregnancy:
Women who are pregnant should inform the x-ray technician of this condition so that proper precautions may be taken to protect both the mother and the child.

Nuclear Medicine:
The Imaging Department also provides a specialized service called Nuclear Medicine. Through this procedure, an examination of body tissue can be made by injection of a radioisotope.

Ultrasonography:
Another specialized field of the Imaging department is Ultrasonography, in which body tissues are examined and traced by beaming high frequency sound waves on the area of interest.

Computer Tomography:
Computerized Tomography, or CT Scanning, uses x-ray beams and computer technology to produce a cross-section view of the body.

MRI:
Magnetic Resource Imaging utilizes a magnetic field and radio signals to get a computerized image of a small section of the body.

Mammography:
The Mammography unit at the Women's Center has been certifies by the FDA through the American College of Radiology and by the State of Ohio. A radiologist and a certifies technologist oversee mammography.
