Nurses and contract physicians who are trained in the management of Emergency Care staff the Emergency Department around the clock. Working with them are the technologists / technicians that comprise our entire spectrum of hospital personnel.

Physician Assistants are scheduled during the busier hours each day to help reduce the patient's waiting time and total length of stay. The physician and physician assistant work together to evaluate and treat each patient.

The Emergency Department team has proven expertise with medical care that covers all emergencies and with all age groups from the newborn to senior citizen. They work closely with private physicians, the emergency medical services, and other support agencies. Patients requiring care not provided in our hospital are stabilized while arrangements for transport are completed.

Patients arriving by ambulance for emergency care are admitted directly to the Emergency Department with their needs having been communicated in advance by two-way radio transmissions. Walk-ins are quickly triaged, assessed and registered on arrival. They are treated in a timely manner according to need. Discharge instructions and follow-up care with private physicians or other agencies, when appropriate, are arranged to provide for continuity in your care.
